Consumer Exploitation Agreed

I must agree with Iris.

Today is Valentine's Day, but why must we take a specific day of the year to focus on those we love? We should cherish our loved one's to our fullest all day every day. It seems this holliday was invented to sell chocolates and roses & smells like consumer exploitation.

Love and Hubris

Though I agree that we should cherish our loved ones to the fullest all day every day, and that there is at least some degree of the hubris of consumer exploitation involved with most holidays (if not all), it doesn't seem too egregious to take a day, e.g. Valentine's Day to stop everything and focus yourself entirely on those you love.
