Consumer Exploitation

I had originally posted this during the "Holiday" season titled "Hubris in the Holidays," but, apparently the system 'hiccuped' my entry out during an update. Anyway, I think the following (the former post) is relavant anytime:

Why is it that with every holiday season comes the inevitable question of consumer exploitation? Why is it that with every holiday season comes the barrage of claims that the holiday season was invented by corporations?

While there will always be rampant hubris in holidays, both questions seem to miss the point – esp. re: the “Holiday Season.” Besides, there's a simple litmus test to establish if you're caught up in the hubris of the holidays: are you stressed in any way, shape or form during the season? If you answered yes, you caught “holiday hubris syndrome.”

Holiday Hubris Syndrome has a simple cure: ANTIHUBRIS!
