A current and historical phenomenon that continually perplexes us is how the followers of every great thinker, theologian, prophet, messiah, or whoever, immediately misconstrue the teachings of their leader. This phenomena is all the more true for the followers of Jesus.

His words are beautiful beyond beautiful, his teachings are humbling beyond humble, his heart loves beyond love. Yet, how is it that so much violence is committed in his name? We can understand easy misunderstanding of Paul's teachings, but even using sound bytes from a pulpit or soap-box, how do words of great wisdom, peace, and love like "blessed are the meek," or "judge not least ye be judged," or "let only he who is truly innocent cast the first stone," or "love thy enemy as thyself," or "turn the other cheek" get spun into a call to war and violence?

So, here we present the complete texts of the four Gospels: The Gospel According to St. Matthew, The Gospel According to St. Mark, The Gospel According to St. Luke, and The Gospel According to St. John.

We will always be adding to our own book collection, but one excellent online resource for books is at Project Gutenberg.

Enjoy!
